Moscow Stock Exchange Index Below 2200 - First Time Since Jun 2018

It comes after European stock indexes fell by 4-6 per cent earlier in the day amid fears over the spread of the novel coronavirus and its impact on the global economy.

The Moscow Stock Exchange (MOEX) index has fallen below 2,200, for the first time since June 2018, data provided by the stock exchange shows. 

Earlier on Monday, major European stock indexes fell by 4-6% amid concerns over the new coronavirus pandemic. 

Last week, the Russian rouble fell to its lowest level in four years after oil prices dropped following the failure of the OPEC+ alliance to agree on production cuts.
