White House Formally Sends US Ambassador to Russia Nomination to Senate

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) - The Trump administration sent its nomination for US Ambassador to Russia to the Senate on Thursday.
"Nominations sent to the Senate… John Joseph Sullivan, of Maryland, to be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Russian Federation," the White House said in a statement.

Sullivan, currently the US Deputy Secretary of State, if his nomination is approved will replace Jon Huntsman who completed his tenure in Moscow on October 3.
