He was named among the best craftsmen in France in 1976, crowned cook of the century in 1990, one of the cooks at the "dinner of the century," and for years held the most Michelin stars in the world.
The famous chef operated a number of restaurants worldwide, including ones in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, London and Paris. He has published several cookbooks, two of which have been translated into English.
