Russian Athletes Not Taking Part in 2018 Olympics Would Damage Olympic Movement

Kremlin spokesman Dmintry Peskov said Tuesday that the non-participation of Russian athletes in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games would seriously damage the whole Olympic movement.

The Kremlin also denied the possibility of the Russian state being involved in doping use in sports, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

“There is currently a range of  problematic topics on the agenda linked to doping use in sports which do not evidence in any way that these cases are linked to state support. On the other hand, Russia constantly says that there can be no state support of doping use, we categorically deny such possibility,” Peskov told reporters.

Kremlin Reveals What Putin May Discuss With Trump If Their Meeting Takes Place
Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump will have a chance to discuss the most urgent issues at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Vietnam, the details of such meeting are still being elaborated, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

“The details of the possible meeting are still being elaborated. In any case, both presidents will be in Danang, they will have a chance to speak one way or another. It is also evident that they will exchange opinions on especially urgent issues, this includes the situation on the Korean peninsula,” Peskov told reporters.

Kremlin Says Seen Media Reports on Offshore Dossier, Unfamiliar With Details

The Kremlin saw media reports on a new offshore scandal, dubbed Paradise Papers, but is not familiar with the details, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Tuesday.

"As you know this [Sibur] is not a state corporation, it is a private company. In this case, we saw reports in the media but we do not know any details," Peskov told reporters.

On Sunday, the US-based International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), as well as multiple media parts of it, published materials, based on the leaked database of powerful individuals’ and corporations’ offshore activities. The materials said the Russian energy company Sibur cooperated with a shipping firm Navigator, in which US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross has a stake.

Kremlin Confirms Erdogan to Visit Russia Soon

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s upcoming visit to Russia.

"[A meeting] is being prepared rather soon. We are preparing the contacts of presidents [Vladimir] Putin and Erdogan. A meeting and Russia-Turkey talks will take place," Peskov told reporters adding that this would be a "regular working contact" of the presidents.
