    Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday called for establishment of closer ties with the countries from the African continent, local media reported.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the day, the Iranian president held a number of meetings with high-ranking officials from such countries as Swaziland and Lesotho.

    According to the Mehr news agency, Rouhani during the meetings called for expansion of ties with Africa and added that Iran respected the rights of all nations around the world.

    The news outlet added that Rouhani's interlocutors had also voiced respect for non-interference in internal affairs of other states, and also welcomed potential strengthening of cooperation with Tehran.
