WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Trump put the Department of Defense in charge of developing a new military strategy for the United States in Afghanistan.
"I know that the plan is to roll that out after there's been a full review process, and I don’t have anything beyond that at this point," Sanders told reporters. "I know they’d like to do that soon."
US Secretary of Defense James Mattis has previously said the United States should look at what kind of capabilities it can bring to aid Afghanistan’s security forces, including better air and intelligence support as well as diplomatic and economic pressure on the country's neighbors.
