    US Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Joseph Votel stated that additional forces fo Washington to ensure the effectiveness of the advisory mission.

    WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The United States needs to send additional troops to Afghanistan to ensure the effectiveness of the advisory mission there, US Central Command (CENTCOM) commander Joseph Votel said in a congressional testimony on Thursday.

    "I do believe it will involve additional forces to ensure that we can make the advise and assist mission more effective," Votel told the US Senate Armed Services Committee.
