Canada’s Trudeau Says Murder of Russian Envoy Reveals Threats All Diplomats Face

The fatal shooting in Ankara of Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov reveals the terror threat faced by all diplomats representing their countries, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau remarked.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Earlier Monday, Karlov was shot and killed at the opening of a photography exhibit in Ankara by a man who was later killed by Turkish police.

“This is something of concern for the entire diplomatic community,” Trudeau said Monday in a year-end interview with the Canadian Press. “I hope and I pray that Canadians will be safe and diplomats will be safe over the holiday season.”
