UNITED NATIONS (Sputnik) — UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon condemns the attacks on a Russian hospital in Syria’s Aleppo that claimed two lives, Spokesperson for the Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric said at a UN press briefing on Tuesday.
"The Secretary-General condemns the reported attack on the Russian mobile field hospital in west Aleppo yesterday, whether an air or other strikes from the government and its allies or through shelling from armed opposition groups," Dujarric said.
The spokesman added that Monday’s assault was one of many repeated attacks on health facilities in different parts of Aleppo. He stressed that such attacks violate international humanitarian law and, if proven to be deliberate, may constitute a war crime.
