MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Railways (RZD) has completed the renovation of Bujanovac-Bukarevac railway section in Serbia, the company said in a statement.
“The renovation project was carried out by RZD International, a Russian Railways subsidiary. The 14-kilometer Bujanovac-Bukarevac section in Serbia is the first out of three southern segments of the Pan-European Corridor X. The renovation was completed one month ahead of the deadline envisaged in the contract,” the statement reads.
In addition, RZD International continues the renovation of Vinarci–Djordjevo line in Serbia, while work on Vranjska Banja–Ristovac is expected to be completed in the near future. The project to renovate the three southern sections of the Pan-European Corridor X is valued at more than $38 million. It is financed by a loan granted by the Russian government.
