MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia's Roscosmos state space corporation and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation at the 23rd Asia-Pacific Regional Space Agency Forum (APRSAF), Roscosmos said in a statement on Thursday.
“During the APRSAF business program, the talks with President of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency Naoki Okumura were held, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation in the field of outer space,” the statement read.
Roscosmos deputy chief Sergei Savelyev, who participated in the talks, stressed that APRSAF was an effective platform for development and reinforcement of space cooperation with the countries of Asia-Pacific region.
APRSAF, established in 1993, comprises space agencies, research institutes and private companies from over 40 regional states providing an opportunity for officials, researchers and businessmen to discuss possible cooperation during annual forum's meetings.
