According to first Vice Chair of the Board of Directors, Members of the Russian Civic Chamber are going to appeal to the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) over pressure on Russian diplomats in the United States over the course of the presidential elections there.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) Members of the Russian Civic Chamber are going to appeal to the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) over pressure on Russian diplomats in the United States over the course of the presidential elections there, the chamber's First Vice Chair of the Board of Directors Yelena Sutormina told Sputnik Wednesday.

"As for the election procedure, we are certainly concerned about the facts of pressure on the Russian diplomats that took place in several states. For our part, we are conducting active monitoring of the situation, the results of which, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will be sent to major international organizations, specifically, the OSCE and the UN," Sutormina said.

She also stressed that the change of a US leader would mean the change of attitude toward Russia in the midst of the US political elite.

On Monday, a Russian diplomat said that the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) was pressuring Russian diplomats in order to prevent them from going near polling stations. One of the cases took place in Houston, when FBI agents blocked the car of an employee of the Russian Consulate General. Also, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the US State Department recommended that Russian representatives should not approach polling stations unaccompanied.
