“For many years RT is an unconditional leader on the most popular video platform in the world. Four billion are a new level that we will raise higher and higher,” Kirill Karnovich-Valua, RT’s head of online projects, said as quoted in a press release.
RT’s viewing records on YouTube are more than two times higher than CNN’s, almost three times higher than Euronews’ and more than seven times higher than the BBC’s.
“The future of media is inextricably linked to the Internet. If you lag behind in this area, you will never catch up. From the very beginning we have focused on platforms in digital sphere, and this is exactly our key to success,” RT's Editor-in-Chief Margarita Simonyan pointed out in the press release.
In April, RT won the People`s Voice award in the final round of the prestigious Webby Awards honoring excellence on the Internet.
