GENEVA (Sputnik) – Russia is calling on all countries willing to restore peace in Aleppo to vote against the draft UN Human Rights Council resolution on the situation in the Syrian city, Russia's envoy to the UN office in Geneva (UNOG) said Tuesday.
"We are calling on everyone, who in deeds, not just in words wants to restore peace in Aleppo and in Syria, to vote against the draft of this resolution," Alexey Borodavkin told RIA Novosti.
A diplomatic source told RIA Novosti earlier on Tuesday, that a resolution on the humanitarian situation in Syria's Aleppo would be adopted following a special session on October 21.
The UNHRC special session on situation in Aleppo has been initiated by the United Kingdom.
