"So, in the end, there was just a candidate whose experience, vision and versatility across a range of areas proved compelling and it was remarkably uncontentious, uncontroversial," Power stated.
The UN Security Council will hold a formal vote on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. after which it will officially present its selected candidate to the UN General Assembly.
