ANKARA (Sputnik) — Turkey is ready to cooperate with Russia on ceasefire and humanitarian issues in Syria, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said Thursday.
"After normalizing relations with Russia, we hope to discuss these issues with it too. If Russia truly wants to cooperate on issues of a ceasefire and humanitarian assistance, we are ready for this," Cavusoglu said.
Cavusoglu said at a press briefing his talks with Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday addressed ways to ensure a truce and deliver humanitarian aid to the conflict-torn country.
