MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The defense ministries of Kazakhstan and the United Kingdom signed on Wednesday a memorandum on defense industry cooperation to expand bilateral contacts and modernize the Kazakh armed forces, Kazakhstan’s Defense Ministry said in a statement.
“Signing the memorandum is an expression of intention of both states’ defense ministries to establish a basis for mutually beneficial defense industry cooperation,” the statement said.
A key area of the UK-Kazakhstan cooperation will be training of the peacekeeping forces. Besides, Kazakh military will have access to education in UK military schools.
Kazakhstan has been developing military cooperation with the United Kingdom since 1996.
