EU Wants Closest Possible Relations With UK After Brexit
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The United Kingdom set up a working group with India to work out trade agreements following Britain’s exit from the European Union, Secretary of State for International Trade Liam Fox said Thursday.

"We have now concluded a deal to set up a trade working group with India to look at how we will remove barriers to trade before we negotiate a free trade agreement on our exit from the European Union," Fox told the parliament.

The secretary pointed out that the discussions on the future trade agreements had already begun despite the United Kingdom not being able to finalize their results until after its exit from the European Union.

"There is nothing to stop us having discussions and scoping out future agreements," Fox said.

The United Kingdom held a referendum on June 23, where the majority of voters chose to leave the European Union. Britain has not begun the official exit procedure yet as it still has not triggered Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty.
