An international G20 anti-corruption research center based in Beijing will start its work in a few months, Chinese media reported on Thursday.

BEIJING (Sputnik) — The center initiated at the latest G20 summit will gather and share intelligence between G20 countries in a bid to go after economic criminals and seize proceeds of crime, the China Daily newspaper said, citing China's Central Commission of Discipline Inspection (CCDI).

"The establishment of such a center will lay a solid foundation for studies of cross-border corruption crimes and offer intelligence support to fight corruption globally," Cai Wei, deputy director of the CCDI's International Cooperation Bureau, was cited by the newspaper as saying.

According to the Chinese official, the center will bring together dozens of anti-graft experts from G20 countries to conduct in-depth research of corruption crimes, legal framework and law enforcement practices, including transnational bribery.
