Putin, Abe to Meet September 2 in Russia
TOKYO (Sputnik) — Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe voiced an intention on Wednesday to coordinate with Russian President Vladimir Putin the agenda for his visit to Japan.

"I intend to coordinate in detail the agenda for Putin's visit to Japan," Abe said, as quoted by Kyodo news agency.

Putin's visit to Japan was initially scheduled for fall 2014 as a response to Abe's trip to Russia in April 2013. Due to disagreements over the situation in Ukraine the visit was called off.

Abe and Putin are expected to meet on the sidelines of the 2016 Eastern Economic Forum due to be held in Russia's Vladivostok on September 2-3. The leaders are likely to discuss Putin's visit to Japan, which may take place in December, during the meeting, according to Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov.
