WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin will likely speak at the G20 Summit next week in Beijing despite having no formal meeting scheduled, US National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications Ben Rhodes said in a press briefing on Monday.
"We don’t have a bilateral meeting scheduled; however, it has been the case at each of the summits that they both attend that we usually try to find an opportunity for the two leaders to spend some time together, usually to focus on Syria and Ukraine," Rhodes told reporters. "So, I don’t know that they’ll have a formal bilateral meeting, but I expect that they’ll have an opportunity to speak on the margins of the G20."
