At Least 25 Killed, Over 100 Injured in Terrorist Attack in Qamishli, Syria
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A number of recent terrorist attacks committed across the world serve as a proof that international terrorism can only be tackled jointly with the participation of the United Nations, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview.

"Let me specifically underscore that the recent terrorist attacks perpetrated in various regions of the world prove yet again that terrorism can be addressed solely through a common effort guided by the norms and principles of international law and coordinated by the UN. In this endeavor, there can be no double standards," Putin told to Azerbaijani State News Agency AZERTAC.

The Russian leader added that there is a big danger in attempts to exploit extremist groups out of political interests.

"Terrorists cannot be divided into "good" and "bad" ones. And, of course, it is unacceptable and extremely dangerous to try to exploit terrorist and radical extremist groups out of political and geopolitical interests," Putin added.

Europe has been pushed to urgently and extensively boost its safety and security measures over the past two weeks amid a wave of deadly attacks that has occurred in Europe, including a truck running over a crowd in France's Nice and a suicide bombing near an open-air music festival in Ansbach, a city in the German state of Bavaria.
