Russian Helicopters is a global industry leader, building some of the world’s most popular choppers, such as the Mi-8/17 series.
"Russian Helicopters is an opportunity that we think has great potential commercial merit, and we are currently reviewing it as part of the investment pipeline we continually develop and screen in partnership with the Russian Direct Investment Fund," the spokesperson told RIA Novosti.
Russian Helicopters is one of some 200 mostly military tech companies under the state-run corporation Rostec. In early June, Rostec signed an agreement to sell 25 percent of the company to the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Middle Eastern investment funds.
Sources confirmed to RIA Novosti that the Mubadala RDIF co-investment fund is currently reviewing the Russian Helicopters opportunity. Mubadala has a team on the ground in Moscow, but it is too early to speculate whether the company will proceed with an investment.
