Families of 7 Passengers of MH17 Plane File Suit Against Malaysia Airlines

Families of seven passengers of the MH17 plane downed over Ukraine in 2014 have filed a suit against Malaysia Airlines for alleged negligence and breach of contract, local media reported Friday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — According to the Star newspaper, the 11 plaintiffs filed the suit on behalf of four Indonesians and three Dutch nationals.

The media noted that the relatives were seeking monetary damages, special damages, costs and further relief.

Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 crashed with 298 people on board on July 17, 2014, in eastern Ukraine, while en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam, leaving no survivors. Kiev and independence supporters in Ukraine’s southeast have blamed each other for the downing of the MH17 plane.
