    American Airlines Flight 105 from London Heathrow (LHR) to New York John F. Kennedy (JFK) returned to Heathrow due to a technical issue, according to official statement of American Airlines.

    NEW YORK (Sputnik) — An American Airlines flight from London to New York returned to the city of departure because of a technical issue with the aircraft, American Airlines said in a statement on Tuesday.

    "American Airlines Flight 105 from London Heathrow (LHR) to New York John F. Kennedy (JFK) has returned to Heathrow due to a technical issue," the statement noted.

    The Boeing 777-200 with 211 passengers onboard landed at 5:23pm local time where it was met by the airline’s maintenance team, the statement added.

    According to flight data, the aircraft never left British airspace and returned to Heathrow Airport shortly after take-off.
