UNESCO stopped caring about the maintenance of the Tauric Chersonese monuments for political reasons, according to the speaker of Russia's lower house of parliament Sergei Naryshkin.

THESSALONIKI (Sputnik) — UNESCO refuses to maintain the ancient city of Tauric Chersonese in Crimea for political reasons, the speaker of Russia's lower house of parliament Sergei Naryshkin said Monday.

"Unfortunately, UNESCO stopped caring about the maintenance of the Tauric Chersonese monuments for political reasons," Naryshkin said, warning against the politicization of such matters.
