The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) scrambled two CF-18 fighter jets after commercial airline pilots reported a large drone in the skies over an airport in the Canadian capital of Ottawa, CBC News reported on Wednesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Canada’s Department of National Defense confirmed the deployment of the jets from the Canadian Forces Base Bagotville in Quebec, CBC News reported. However, the dispatched jets were not able to locate the drone, according to media reports.

The Canadian police are investigating the incident, which took place on May 25.
