MADRID (Sputnik) – Earlier in the day, EU Judicial Agency Eurojust confirmed two arrests were carried out in Rome past weekend on a case related to Portuguese and Russian citizens, suspected of transferring confidential information to a foreign intelligence service for money.
"The embassy can not give official comments at the moment, as the official Portuguese authorities have not notified us on anything, although they should in such a case," Evgeniy Skobkarev told RIA Novosti.
The press attache added that there had also been no official confirmation by the Portuguese authorities that one of the arrested was a Russian citizen, such information was only reported by media.
