Aviation Services Contacted Flight MS804 10 Minutes Before Plane Vanished
ATHENS (Sputnik) Egypt Air Flight MS804 departed from the Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris at 23:09 GMT. The aircraft headed for Cairo International Airport. According to the airline, there were a total of 66 people on board the plane, including 56 passengers.

"Our C-130 is conducting search efforts in the region and is already in the area with other aircraft that are participating in the operation. Also a frigate is being deployed to the area and will be there in approximately three hours. Two helicopters are also on standby on the island of Karpathos," a source in the General Staff said.

He said that the military does not have any information on the whereabouts of the passenger jet.

"We only have information from the flight controllers from Greece and Egypt that the plane's signal was lost when it was 130 miles away from Karpathos," the source said.
