"Latvia as well as a number of Western countries intentionally demonize Russia. Their aim is to weaken Russia. No holds barred, apparently, blatant propaganda as well. You need not look hard to find examples, such as a recent BBC documentary as well as Latvian film 'The Master Plan,'" he told Latvian Vesti Segonya news portal.
The documentaries "World War Three: In the War Room" and "The Master Plan" Veshnyakov mentioned came out earlier in February and pictured Russia as a potential aggressor in the Baltics.
"We often hear Russia to be accused of propaganda. I am asking in turn, what are the mentioned films but a blatant propaganda?" he added.
Earlier in March, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called to stop anti-Russia propaganda in Western media, as he talked to his US counterpart John Kerry.
