The so-called Orthodox Christian miracle of the Holy Fire occurred on Saturday in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

JERUSALEM (Sputnik) — The Holy Fire symbolizes the miraculous light of Jesus Christ’s Resurrection, and is considered to be sacred by Orthodox Christians.

Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III, shared it with the audience in the temple, including with the delegation of the St. Andrew’s Foundation, which will transfer the Holy Fire in special icon lamps to Moscow

Thousands of people visit Jerusalem every year to take part in Holy Week ceremonies and processions from Palm Sunday until Easter.
