MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Turkish authorities will try to ensure safety of tourists visiting the country, but it is dubious whether they will succeed in doing so, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday.
"I am sure that the Turkish leadership will aim to ensure safety of tourists, including those from Russia, because this is a significant source of income for the Turkish budget — last year almost 5 million tourists came from Russia. They will, of course, try, but the question whether they can do it remains," Putin said during his direct line session.
