Austrian Embassy Says No Citizens Among Hijacked Egyptian Plane Passengers
There were no Austrian nationals on hijacked EgyptAir Airbus A320, according to the press officer of the Austrian Embassy in Nicosia.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — There were no Austrian citizens among the passengers of hijacked EgyptAir passenger flight MS181, the Austrian Embassy in Nicosia press officer told Sputnik on Tuesday.
Earlier in the day, a man hijacked an
Airbus A320 en route from Egypt’s Alexandria to Cairo with at least 60 people on board. The plane subsequently landed in the Cyprus Larnaca airport.
“As far as we know, there were no Austrian nationals,” the press officer said.
Several foreigners as well as crew members remain on board the hijacked EgyptAir commercial jet.
