US Forces Kill Two Amid Attack on New Iraq Firebase on Monday - Pentagon

Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Col. Steve Warren said that US forces have eliminated two enemy combatants who engaged in small arms fire with the newly established firebase in northern Iraq.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – US forces have eliminated two enemy combatants who engaged in small arms fire with the newly established firebase in northern Iraq, Operation Inherent Resolve spokesman Col. Steve Warren told reporters on Monday.

"There was some small arms fire this morning, ineffective," Warren stated. "It appeared to be focused more on…the larger base nearby. Two enemies killed in that operation."
