According to Chairperson of the Italian Senate's Defense Committee, the terrorist threat in Europe is growing.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) Chairperson of the Italian Senate's Defense Committee said Monday that the terrorist threat in Europe is growing and new attacks are being prepared in Mediterranean states.

"Of course, our common enemy is terrorism, the terror attacks have intensified in Western Europe, this is an alarm signal. We are aware of terror attacks being prepared in Mediterranean countries," Nicola Latorre said during the meeting with Viktor Ozerov, the head of the Defense Committee of the Russian Federation Council.

He added that it was necessary to use not only military means but also the political approaches to solve the current regional problems.

The international community is implementing extra security measures after a series of terrorist attacks worldwide, such as the deadly attacks in Paris on November 13, 2015, that killed 130 and injured over 350 people.
