UN Syria Envoy Says Received Gov’t Proposals on Crisis Settlement
MOSCOW (Sputnik) Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday said the first report by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on foreign fighters in Syria lacked details.

“The first report was distributed not long ago in the [UN] Security Council. We believe it is extremely inconcrete,” Lavrov said during a joint press conference in Moscow with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

Lavrov said that he hoped the next report would be more direct and honest.

“There’s no need to take the ‘ostrich position’ as this is a very serious case to take such a politically correct attitude. Facts need to be provided to the Security Council members,” Lavrov added.
