GENEVA (Sputnik) – Only the High Negotiations Committee, the Syrian government, and the representatives of opposition which took part in Moscow and Cairo meetings will take part in the Syria peace talks in Geneva, the office of the UN Special Envoy for Syria said Tuesday in a statement.
"The UN has not issued any new invitations to the talks. The Invitation has been send to the Higher Negotiations Committee the government and opposition involved in Cairo and Moscow meetings as per security council resolution 2254," the statement read.
According to the office, the groups on the cessation of hostilities in Syria and humanitarian access in the country will meet in Geneva on March 9 in the afternoon.
