The United States is cooperating with the Dutch investigation into the MH17 plane crash, but will not provide any details related to the type of information or assistance it has or is providing, US Department of State spokesperson John Kirby told reporters.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, the State Department was unable to confirm if it provided Dutch investigators with radar and imagery data related to flight MH17 before it crashed.

"We continue to work with the joint investigation team and law enforcement authorities," Kirby stated on Thursday when asked what type of data Washington provided Dutch investigators. "But I am not going to go into the details of the cooperation."

Earlier this week, Dutch parliamentarians accused their country's leadership of covering up facts regarding the MH17 crash probe, including radar data, according to Dutch news agency RTL Nieuws.

On July 20, 2014, US Secretary of State John Kerry claimed during an appearance on Meet the Press that the United States had picked up imagery of the MH17 flight's launch, timing and trajectory.

Flight MH17, with 298 people on board, crashed on July 17, 2014, in eastern Ukraine after being shot down while en route to Kuala Lumpur from Amsterdam, leaving no survivors. Local militia and the Kiev-led forces were fighting in the region at the time of the crash, and traded blame for the incident.

Dutch investigators published a report last October saying that the airliner appeared to have been downed using a Russian-produced Buk surface-to-air missile system. It was unable to identify the exact location from where the missile was fired.

In a separate probe into the crash, Russian arms manufacturer Almaz-Antey said the missile had exploded near the left side of the ill-fated aircraft. Almaz-Antey considered this to be proof that the projectile could only be a missile from a Buk system launched from the region of Zaroshchenske, controlled by the Kiev forces at the time of the incident.
