MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia would like to bind the agreement with the United States on the cessation of hostilities in Syria in the UN Security Council, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said Thursday.
“Now all efforts need to be utilized in the conscientious realization of the Russian-American initiative on the cessation of hostilities that we would urgently like to bind with an according decision in the UN Security Council,” Bogdanov said during a meeting with the International Valdai Discussion Club in Moscow.
“All warring parties in Syria must confirm to us and our American partners their commitment to the ceasefire by noon on February 26. The Russian and American militaries should determine the areas together of where such groups are operating. The armed forces of Syria, the Russian Aerospace Forces, and the US-led coalition will not wage military operations against them,” Bogdanov said.
