    According to media reports, at least 40 suspected Islamic State militants have been killed in an airstrike in the northwestern Libyan city of Sabratha.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) At least 40 suspected Daesh militants have been killed in an airstrike in the northwestern Libyan city of Sabratha, Sky News Arabia reported Friday.

    The attack was carried out by US forces, according to The New York Times, which cites an unnamed Western official. Many of the killed militants were reportedly from Tunisia.

    Daesh has been designated a terrorist organization by numerous countries, including the United States and Russia.
