India plans to raise the issue of incorrect geotagging of the India-administered Jammu and Kashmir region with the Twitter social networking website, India's Ministry of External Affairs spokesman said Thursday.

NEW DELHI (Sputnik) – Indian Twitter users expressed disapproval when the autofill section of the location tab inserts Pakistan after the word "Jammu."

"I’m sure it would have been taken up with Twitter. We ourselves do not do this, another division does this, but I’m sure this would be taken up," spokesman Vikas Swarup said at a briefing.

India's relations with Pakistan have long been clouded by the Jammu and Kashmir region, disputed by India and Pakistan since the end of British rule in 1947. Following several armed conflicts, the two countries agreed to a ceasefire in 2003.

Both sides have since regularly accused each other of violating the truce.
