WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – The United States hopes the Persian Gulf states will contribute more and intensify the military campaign against the Daesh, US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said at a Counter-Daesh ministerial meeting in Brussels on Thursday.
"Saudi Arabia and its regional partners have a clear stake in this fight, and I hope its neighbors in the Gulf also intensify their counter-Daesh campaign in the coming days."
Carter explained that many members of the global coalition against the Daesh have expressed willingness to contribute more to the campaign, including several Persian Gulf states.
