A possible new "reset" of relations between Moscow and Washington will depend on what the White House will get from it, according to former US Secretary of State and now presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Former US Secretary of State and now presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said that she does not rule out a new "reset" of Russian-US relations, which she said will hinge on what the White House will obtain from it, RIA Novosti reported.

Her remarks came during the Democratic Party's presidential debates on Monday.

When asked whether she is ready to again push a symbolic "reset" button concerning Russia-US ties, something that she did seven years before, Clinton said that "it depends on what I get from it."

Clinton recalled that in 2009, Moscow and Washington signed an agreement on the regular transit of US military equipment and personnel to Afghanistan over Russian territory.

Also at the time, the two inked a deal to curtail the build-up of nuclear weapons and agreed on sanctions against Iran.

The Russian-US "reset" was an attempt by the Obama administration to improve bilateral relations in 2009.

On March 6 of that year, Hillary Clinton and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pressed a red button emblazoned with a Russian word which Clinton thought meant "reset" in Russian. However, Lavrov explained to Clinton that the word on the button actually means "overcharge" rather than "reset".

The 2009 reset finally came to a standstill in March 2014, when media outlets described the process as having "failed", citing Crimea's reunification with Russia, the armed conflict in Ukraine and the alleged lack of Russian cooperation with the United States on Syria.

Mikhas, That is the one thing that still bothers me, the way that Muammar Gaddafi died and his dead mangled body put on display -- there are so many that will have to pay for that. Irrespective of the faults that Gaddafi may have, no leader deserves to die like that.

And Hillary that said, 'We came, we saw, he died' and then laugh about it . . . the cruelty is simply astonishing.

Elsa JV, we are their subjects. They are the new British Empire. That is how delusional they are.

The problem is that the Grand Witch of the Clinton House would want to retain the current US plans they have as the starting point to be accepted by Russia PLUS a cherry on top. She does not want just 100% of whatever it is the Americans want but a little bit extra just to rub it in. Little she knows that she would be lucky if they were to get 50 cents in a dollar when they walk into that room.

For the record, I can not name a single American politician going back decades and decades who I would consider a decent and honest human being regardless of his political orientation. This includes all female ones that ever showed their snooty perms to the world.

Just throw a bucket of water on her, so Hillary can melt away
like the Wicked Witch of the West did.

Her sponsors need the Russian market, but Russia does not need them.

"What's In It For Us". This just about sums up the American approach to international diplomacy. As a matter of fact it pretty much sums up the American mind set in all dealings. You will please note that Clinton did not say "Mutually Beneficial Agreements", no that is just not the American Way!!!!!

ivanwa88, I understand your point but JFK in my book has to be disqualified as a decent human being because of his adultery past. A champion must be a champion overall, totally and completely. And he can not be considered a champion only but the President of the free world which puts him on the global pedestal unconditionally! This title or qualification brings higher moral responsibility than any other. He failed. So US president - yes because he was voted in. A champ - nope.

With the Clinton clan in the WH again means further escalation of war mongering and there has to be quite a consideration regarding the phase period when one president leaves and another takes the position. These phase periods of changing power should be investigated further, what has occurred during these periods? and what comes to mind is the fate of Kursk as a "last job" for BC, before he left office. The current president's police during the remaining months might have influence on the next president and with HC clan in the office, the risk for third war might be closer than expected.

      Yes that murder was wrong.

Russia is doing quite nicely without US products.
The US is fast becoming the 'Emperor with No Clothes' and even its vassal states in Europe are privately sniggering at the US incompetence now.

      teddy j,
      Hi
I heard they have electronic voting in America, and that is rigged.
In these silly TV debates they should have an investigative journo ready to hop in and expose Hillary Clintons lies, and in fact destroy her forever live tv.

      teddy j,
      Hi again,
Thank you good Intel, and I tried another search on this but got access denied, and got offered a survey.
The big lie is "internet super highway of information", and that there is, "no need for silly old books just burn them, we got it online anyway" .
