BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini called on the North Korean authorities to return to dialogue with the international community after Pyongyang’s announcement about a successful hydrogen bomb test on Wednesday.
"I call on the DPRK to re-engage in a credible and meaningful dialogue with the international community, in particular in the framework of the Six-Party Talks, and to cease this illegal and dangerous behavior," Federica Mogherini said in a statement posted on the EU External Action website.
"I will speak this morning with the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea Yun Byung-se and the Foreign Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida to discuss the way forward," Mogherini added.
Pyongyang had already conducted three underground nuclear tests since 2006, when the country announced it had joined the ‘nuclear powers club.’
