WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – Canada has committed funds to increase investment in and trade with Ukraine, the Canadian government said in a press release on Thursday.
“Canada will contribute $13.6 million to the Canada-Ukraine Trade and Investment Support project between 2016 and 2021,” the release stated.
The government explained the funding is intended to help small and medium-size Ukrainian companies to access Canadian and global markets.
The Canadian government made the announcement after a meeting between the country’s Minister of International Trade Chrystia Freeland and Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Nataliya Mykolska in Nairobi, Kenya.
Kenya is currently hosting the World Trade Organization’s 10th Ministerial Conference.
