MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Japanese-Russian information exchange on international terrorists is quite possible, Japanese Ambassador to Russia Chikahito Harada said Wednesday.
"Of course, if we talk about the fight against terrorism, the collection and exchange of information between Japan and Russia would be useful. Such a possibility is quite real," ambassador told RIA Novosti.
On December 8, the Japanese Foreign Ministry launched a center to collect information about international terrorism.
The decision to open the center came after the Islamic State militants in January beheaded two Japanese nationals, entrepreneur Haruna Yukawa and freelance journalist Kenji Goto, in retaliation for Japan’s $200 million pledge in humanitarian aid for IS-affected countries.
