MOSCOW (Sputnik) – There are ongoing trilateral talks on the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) to address Moscow's concerns that the deal could unleash a stream of tariff-free goods into Russia. Moscow has warned to reintroduce import tariffs for Ukrainian goods after the Kiev-Brussels accord comes into force in January.
"We have not received any acceptable offer addressing our concerns either in form or content," Ulyukaev said at a meeting with Slovakia's Economy Minister Vazil Hudak, adding that Moscow had no choice but to protect its economic interests.
The outstanding issues include technical regulations, sanitary and customs controls, tariff regulation, and protections for Russian investments.
Experts from Russia, Ukraine and the European Union are meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday for crunch talks, after Kiev and Brussels signed the economical part of Ukraine’s Association Agreement with the European Union in June 2014.
