All Syrian Opposition Groups Should Participate in Vienna Talks – Lavrov
BERLIN (Sputnik) The Vienna process of settling the Syrian crisis was started late despite the existence of common interests in the fight against the Daesh, also known as ISIL/The Islamic State, German Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen said Thursday.

“The Vienna process was tardy. It’s sad that the preparatory process took so long,” von der Leyen told journalists.

She added that there is a common interest in the fight against Daesh among those sitting around the table, including the United States, Russia, and Iran.

Germany's Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen said Thursday that the German Bundeswehr would not cooperate with Syrian government forces loyal to President Bashar Assad.

"It is clear that there will be no cooperation with Assad's forces," she told reporters.
