Russian Defense Chief Invites Egypt Counterpart to Anti-Terror Conference

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu invited his Egyptian counterpart Sedki Sobhi to participate in a conference on international security, Shoigu's deputy said Wednesday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian Defense Ministry will hold an annual conference on international security on April 27-28 in Moscow.

"We plan to discuss acute issues with an emphasis on the fight against international terrorism. The Russian defense minister personally invited his Egyptian counterpart to the conference," Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov told reporters.

He added that Sobhi’s speech would be interesting for all forum participants.

Shoigu also invited Egyptian military officials to participate in Russia’s September 2016 International Army Games, where the newest Russian weapons and military equipment would be presented, Antonov said.
