On October 31, the Russian Kogalymavia airliner, carrying 224 people, crashed in the Sinai Peninsula en route from Sharm El-Sheikh to St. Petersburg. All people on board died in what has become the biggest tragedy in Russian and Soviet civil aviation history.

"Today, the Russian experts got permission to implement the necessary work, and tomorrow, they will begin operations," Hani Ramzy said.

Earlier in the day, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said that the first group of Russian security experts had headed for Egypt, the second group is also scheduled to leave Russia on Sunday, which will later be followed by the third group.

According to Dvorkovich, the Russian specialists will assess the levels of safety in the major Egyptian airports, and will make recommendations on the additional measures, if necessary.
